Scenic Train

For those that prefer a leisurely afternoon excursion, The Saratoga and North Creek Railroad's Merganser offers north and southbound scenic rides  Thursday through Monday between North Creek and Thurman.  Riding past the ducks to which the train pays homage, the Merganser travels along the Hudson River for a relaxing afternoon journey through the Southern Adirondacks.

Museums, Galleries, Antique and Specialty Shops

The Lake George/Gore Mountain Region, in New York is home to the Adirondack Museum .  This not to be missed museum reflects stories of life, work, and play in the Adirondack Park and northern New York State.  Also be sure to visit The North Creek Depot Museum , right across the street from The Copperfield.  Situated within the historic North Creek train station, the museum has a wonderful scale model of historic trains created by the world renowned Dunham Studios.  The museum also has exhibits which celebrate Teddy Roosevelt's ride to the presidency and well as the history of Ski trains and the development of skiing at Gore Mountain.

Every Thursday North Creek hosts the Farmer's Market on the Hudson. Entertainment, kid's activities and wonderful, locally produced foods and quality artisan crafts.

Trappers Tavern showcases great musicians on Saturday nights and great starter specials. Wednesday nights head across the street to Bar Vino for jazz entertainment.
