The Copperfield Inn is located in downtown North Creek in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains and we are located 5 minutes from Gore Mountain, which has some of the best alpine skiing in the east coast. The Copperfield has 2 restaurants – Lorenzo’s which has fine northern Italian dining with an open hearth oven and Trappers Tavern which is more casual, which has hearty pub fare and a very unique environment. I've been here Before but I wanted to show my sister because it is such a nice place to come. Trappers is more of an informal place, people come in, log cabin style. |We have live entertainment 3 nights a week, more of a tavern pub, really a nice place to unwind. We made the menu for Lorenzo’s and for Trapper’s. We used a lot of the similar items that were on the Trapper's menu from before. There were a lot of favorites, and there also a lot of work done in referencing the book the restaurant is based on. Trapper’s Tavern was named for Jacques Dugas. All of the menu items stem from incidents that happened in his life which are all chronicled in a book. We kept a lot of the menu items the same, just tweaked the recipes to make them our own. Grilled romaine salad with melted brie and a balsamic reduction. To keep true to the book we named it Burnt Ridge, which is one of the chapters in the book. We just got an order for 2 desserts. There's a black bottom cheesecake and a black cherry cobbler - all our desserts are house-made - the cobbler we reduced the cherries in red wine - they cook down we put them in there own ramekin with crumb topping. We bake them and put ice cream on top and there done. I got to go put ice cream on this bad boy. Happy Birthday song. The owner had told us that is was going to be a Northern Italian restaurant so we did a little research and we know that the food is simple - my suos chef Denver and I just sat down and talked about what we thought most about northern cuisine and how to incorporate a lot of different menu items be it fish, the proteins, the grains and just kind of took it from there and tried to build as well a rounded menu as we could. They use a lot of wild game in Italy, wild boar, all sorts of things, venison, rabbit on the menu, it's a very typical dish in Northern Italy. The open kitchen has been great - seeing people's expressions as we're cooking – it’s great. A lot of people are wowed when the first come in. Just a nice ambience to be in - you get to be in a beautiful dining room instead of in a kitchen with no windows so I personally love it. They peek inside the oven they see that flame the warmth of that adds a lot to the room. We have a calamari app - it's a crispy fried calamari with smoked to sauce this is tomato basil soup and this is our parsley garlic sauce. We found certainly within the last year with the economy that people are staying much closer to home. There’s some great skiing right in here your backyard and the Copperfield has terrific accommodations. There's a different package for every holiday, but we also have a kidnapping your spouse package which is a romantic getaway for 2 - would include a bottle of wine, chocolate covered strawberries, a bouquet of flowers. We believe in providing value for money we have great accommodations and we can provide you with a terrific time with very good value both through the packages we have, through the accommodations, we have through the dining facility we have. Basically you call me and tell me exactly what you're looking for - whether you're interested in mountain biking or horse back riding or skiing or snow shoeing, dinner, flowers, chocolate - whatever you and your family will like. I can put that together for you as well as discounted room rate sand we can do that anywhere for 1 night to as many nights you’re interested in staying. North Creek is just a short drive from the Glens Falls - Saratoga region. Coming to the Copperfield and staying at the Copperfield, you'll come away with the sense of relaxation, enjoyment, great food, great service and you'll go away refreshed, reinvigorated and you'll want to come back for more.
